The LSD region (Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal) is one of Ireland's best adventure destinations. There's a great mix of extreme and not so extreme outdoor activities available. Although the hiking, biking climbing and watersports opportunities are largely unexploited, they can easily compete with the best in the world; with the added advantage that the trails, beaches and waterways are never too busy. We won't pretend to be experts on all there is to offer, but with a bit of initiative and an open mind we are sure you'll find something  to keep you busy during your stay in the Sligo area.
The beaches around the area are some of the finest in the country, and the great thing about the LSD area is we have a beach for every wind direction. Click on the "Beaches" page for details on what beach faces what direction. Remember, never kitesurf in offshore winds, just move down the road to the most suitable beach.
On the "Accommodation" pages, we have detailed some of the accommodation providers around the area. This list is by no means exhaustive and a full list of providers is available on the Discover Ireland website.
